Yes, did mine myself. Used the same tool you ordered. Worked good. Held the springs up with air pressure in each cylinder. Was a little tight under the brake booster. I pulled the fan and shroud and left the radiator in, did not loose any coolant as I capped off the coolant bottle and laid it to one side. Just take your time with the valve spring keepers and have a magnet handy.

Well finally got time to tear into my truck. Pulled the valve cover and noticed the valve dropped. Looks like I have to pull the head now. Anybody have any advice on pulling heads. Taking it to a mechanic is out of the question.

Well got started pulling the heads. I got the intake off and I found that I have a bent valve. I was hoping I could just slide it back up once I got the intake off. Guess I'm not that lucky.

So after reading this and another thread i was wondering how bad is this to do. Also why is it better to go with the 6.1's? How much would this run from a mechanic?
