Default exhaust hack job ?

my truck recently gave me a discovery.. about a week ago after i picked her up, my uncle was over taking a look. of course he cranked it and rev'd it. he states the truck has exhaust on it. sure enough theres a FM can on there. i didnt think anything of it, it wasnt loud nor really louder than the others i test drove. i did notice the dreaded MDS flutter a time or two.

its rusting as most FM's do and welds arent great either thought about replacing. today i find something interesting.

for ref. this a oem cat back from a similar 5.7 truck.

WOW, that's awful!! And, that's my stock exhaust you used as a reference

What year is your truck? Many of them have a front resonator before the muffler. That's what you have on yours.

Yep, stock configuration is a resonator then the muffler, then a resonator. Instead of doing a cat-back on your'n, they cut right behind the first resonator, leaving it intact...

Not true for the 07. I changed mine over to a GP. It's CAT, MUFFLER, RES.

anyhow, it's still funny they wasted their money to replace the resinator.
