Default i will choose a 1500

After mulling over everyone's comments and my budget. I think I'll choose a 1500. At the end if the day I need to work with what I have and get only what I really need, I think the expense issues are enough of a reason for me to settle with a 1500. I could use my savings towards other expenses.

Hey, THANKS to everyone! Your feedback helped me out a lot. Thanks!

I have never reached 17mpg with my 07 Hemi either. My driving is mixed, but all expressway M-F to work. My weekend short runs around town kill any gains I get during the week.

If you are not towing any more than 5K, I would go 1500 with a Hemi.
Depends where you are. Diesel around here works out to 15-20% cheaper than gas. Makes a BIG difference.

At the end of the day there's nothing better than rollin coal in a Cummins and strappin a trailer to your truck and not even knowin it's there.

17mpg hwy...unloaded? **** my truck gets 17mpg hwy with a 6000lb enclosed trailer

I drive 80 miles round trip to work a day. I am currently @ 18.5mpg with summer blend fuel. Considering the higher price of diesel and the much more costly oil changes and such, it is more feasible for me to have the gasser. I was getting towing 7600lbs the other day with no issues but was only getting 10.5mpg
