I am seeking advice on if I should swap my 05 ram 4.7 into my 2000 Dak 4.7? Yes I know that the tone ring will have to be swapped. The 05 has only 61000 miles and the 2000 has 171000 and a rod knock. The 05 is totaled but lot drives and runs/ran great! Should I just part and sell the 05 to raise funds for a better match for my 2000? The junk yards offered $1800-2000 for the 05. With 61000 the 4.7 alone is worth that!

Swap it in, put the good parts in it while its out (cams, intake manifold).

 

Still seeking more input! I guess I didn't understand what a pita it is to swap a tone ring! I may just do a quick and dirty rod bearing to see if I can quiet down the knock.
