Default Magnaflow Y-pipe

Anyone have some pictures of your installation? I searched and found one that was closeup, but not much detail on it. Also did it affect your low-end torque. I am trying to plan out my exhaust and not sure if the Y-pipe is going in or not. I plan to remove the resonator, and install a magnaflow muffler and possibly the Y-pipe. I have a CAI coming and plan on the superchips programmer in the near future along with new plugs and maybe the taylor shorty wires. Hopefully this will get me a couple more MPG's when driven easy and some extra kick when needed also. Opinions on this set-up welcomed.

Assuming no change of location then visualize that crappy Y pipe removed and the better flowing Magnaflow Y installed.

Thanks for the reply, I found several threads about it after I posted and I am ordering the y-pipe as well as the muffler that comes with the catback kit. I will remove the resonator too. Edit: just pulled the trigger on the Y-pipe and muffler. Will document the install when it gets here.

I know there are a couple of pictures, I will try to get one of mine for you.. It made a big difference in the power throughout the the entire powerband in the truck. One of my favorite mods yet, truck sounds and runs great. As for MPG's, not too much of an improvement because I like to get on it a little more now

Looking forward to the picture, I am trying to figure out ahead of time what pipe I will need to weld it in. Hopefully seeing a few pictures will give some insight on how others did it. Glad to hear about the power increase and hope I can resist the urge to punch it everytime I take off.

Here are a couple of pictures of mine.. It is turned slightly in order to allow the added pipes to make the bends.

Nice, and thanks for the pictures. I believe I will add enough pipe to scoot the Y-pipe back a bit, hopefully that will make it easier to do. Can't wait to get it in there.

Yeah the stock Y-pipe (if you want to call it that) is located directly above the crossmember, as you can see, we moved mine back about 10" in order to make it fit right. My exhaust guy did a great job.

I plan to do mine myself, just wanted some idea of how to locate it so it wasn't like the stock one and right in the bend of the pipe. Yours is very close to what I had invisioned but seeing it helps a lot. I will likely buy some pipe that is pre-bent or have the muffler shop put the bend in it for me to where I can cut it to fit then weld it in. Thanks again.
