Blue flames???
Couldn’t find anything about this on this site or the internet in general for the dodge ram. Well here is my question the other day a buddy of mine who has a 2007 Dodge Ram hemi 1500 that is completely stock minus he cut the exhaust off right before the muffler and turned it out in front of the passenger rear tire went to pass me on the highway at night and when he was passing me there was blue flames shooting out of the exhaust. Does this mean his truck is running lean? Or was it just from accelerating and more fuel being added to the system? And is this a bad thing or not? Just would like to hear someone else’s opinion on it. Thanks

Its true. I did have one. But again, any old school cool cat will tell you that you only get colors in flames from exhaust certain additives in the fuels. Thats how hot rodders did it.
Remember that the blue part of the flame is the highest temp. Obviously, exhaust temps get hot but no where near THAT hot. So chemicals were added to give the visual illusion

One, that sounds like a diesel and two, still no way to blow flames from the front of the engine all the way through the pipes and all the way to that back. Thats a good 12+ ft of pipe and not possible unless mechanical damage and even then it would not last as long as it did in that video.
You friend is running a flame thrower system (commercial/professional/home made) of some sorts and using propane OR if it is a diesel, he has it rigged like they do them to MAKE them blow black smoke.
Cool? yes. Stock and nothing modified? No.
