Default The ashtray? Really?

Why would someone break into a truck (apparently jimmying the lock to do so) and rip out the ashtray? I don't smoke, so it isn't like I'll miss it. But I don't want a gaping hole in my dash either. Not the first time they've broken in. I don't keep money or valuables in my truck. Why in the heck would they steal the ashtray? Boggles my mind.

Any idea where online I can buy a replacement for a reasonable price?

Makes me want to rig the door with a shotgun trap.

That sucks, I leave the keys in mine a lot of nights and have no worries of anything like that. Maybe invest in a large dog?

A .45 would work good too. On a serious note, I have a buddy that wired up a system so that if you broke in to his truck you would get a good shock snd it was enough to drop a grown man and have him twitching. I have no idea how he did it without toasting his computers and other electronics. But his alarm has a camera attached to it so when you break in it takes your picture.

Yeah that sounds like some tweaker looking for another score. That sucks man. Some idiot jimmied my truck and took two of my ham radios, police scanner, and my pistol. Pisses me off.

I had the exact same thing happen to me years ago on my truck. I lived with the hole for years until recently. There are some nice folks on the boards here. I picked up a nice one from a member for a good price. Try going to the wanted section and post. Someone might have what you want.

A good DVR security camera system with cameras mounted right above your garage door, will do the trick nicely. At least then, when they do break in, you got their faces on camera n the police can get a decent ID on the scumbag.

I'm a cop, btw. Just call your local PD and have your house put on "close patrol". Just a tip.
