It should take it. The Avalanche has a 5.3 I believe but it might be lighter since its a SUT and not a full size pickup

It will kill it. A buddy of mine has one. All he saw was my tail lights.

The Ram Hemi should have no problem smoking an Avalanche. Remember the first years of the Avalanche and how much plastic they stuck on the sides? The only vehicle with more plastic cladding may have been the Pontiac Aztek.

Ain't never raced, but I've owned both. '02 Avalanche Z71, a heavy pig with the 5.3 V8, most comfortable, plush truck-like vehicle I've ever owned and I loved the storage, but it couldn't get out of it's own way, even with stock tires.

Only full size, 4x4 I've ever owned I didn't lift because I felt it big meats would make it a total pig...

Anyone remember the TV show Bull Run where the Avalanche did well (they might have even won, I forget...) I remember wishing I had a chance to do the same in my truck because I would have run circles around them

I will give 'em this -- I know they got better MPG between towns than I would!

ya know I totally agree with this statement..

and I feel like it applies to most chevy SUV's and Light trucks.. I've never driven their 2500/3500 but I always felt that their SUV's and half ton trucks are super comfortable but they feel like total pigs.. and just overall kinda slouchy through corners... lots of body roll..

I'll probably love them when i'm 70 but until then.. lovin the dodge.

There was an avalanche 2500 with the 8.1L, but they are quite rare.

well , this 2002 avalanche z71 1500 4x4 is 5.3 L with K&N drop in filter, magnaflow muffler, and 4.10 rear end 17 inch wheels , he is challenging me (06 QC ram hemi 1500 4x4 with K&N drop in filter, y pipe with full magnaflow cat-back dual rear exit,3.92 20 inch wheels, ASD) and my friends rumble bee 4x4 (04 , K&N intake , y pipe with full magnaflow cat-back single exit,3.92 20 inch wheels , diablo programmer, open diff) , So he is challenging both of us from 0-100 miles only , and he is saying that he can beat both of us from 0-100 miles !!!

All your really proving is how quick you can go threw two tanks of gas!

One advantage vorteck engines have over the hemi, 8 spark plugs instead of 16, Hemi and vorteck atain impressive performance stock, or with modifications.

I'm still happy with my hemi, not so with the rest of the truck.
