Default Best Shocks for Stock Ram?

I would like a stiffer ride with less roll. Can anyone recommend some shocks that will improve the ride? I'm not looking for harsh, just more taut, not as floatey.

I put Monroe Reflex on mine a few months ago. It tightened up just right, IMO. There is an intersection near my work that is "washboarded" due to the heavy traffic. With the OEM shocks, the tail end skittered during the turn. With the Reflexes, the skitter is gone.

BTW, shocks won't do anything for body roll. To reduce that, you need an anti-sway bar.

Reflexes are a good shock and if it's a 4x2 or a mostly road 4x4 they would be an excellent choice. The Rancho RS5000 is an excellent shock that leans more toward off-road applications but also a good road shock if you want a stiffer ride. Both made by Tenneco so they are top quality.

If it's firmer you want, whatever brand you go with, just make sure to get a nitrogen filled shock rather than a hydrogen filled shock. Nitrogen is a lot more dense than hydrogen so as a rule, those shocks are stiffer...

I really love my Bilstein 5100s. At first I was skeptical but after breaking them in a bit they proved worthy for a truck shock.

Blistein and I second the anti sway bar recommendation.

I put Monroe Reflex on mine a few weeks ago. I am very satisfied so far. They keep the rubber on the ground better than the OEMs ever did. As far as body roll, a swaybar is the way to go if that is your main concern.

I just replaced the original stock shocks(105,000 miles) with 4 new Monroe Sensatracs on my 03 4.7 Reg Cab 4x2. They perform exactly as you describe. Stiffer ride with less roll "just more taut, not as floatey". I'm very satisfied with the performance and noticed the difference immediately. Improved handling and traction with a nice ride. I also tow quite often. Go to Advance Auto Parts and use promo code BIG30 for $30 off entire purchase.

Bilsteins are what I went with.
