Finalizing new 4.7 Exhaust Need Your Opinions

Y pipe & Removing Catalytic Converter
Have an 03 4.7 and am getting ready to do the y pipe. Will I notice any increases in performance by removing the cat and going 3" pipe to muffler. Pretty sure it will make the exhaust louder? Will I need to consider a longer muffler to keep noise down? 5x8x18" Magnaflow is muffler size I'm set on. Maybe go to a 5x11x22" Magnaflow?
