Although the stock wheel offset (backspacing) suck for wider tires I don't think you'll have an issue. I have a buddy who used to have an '03 Ram 2500 and I helped him put a level on the front and he went to 35" tires on the stock wheels. I'm almost sure they were 35x12.5s.
Now he did lose the bead on one of his tires (the stock wheels technically are too narrow to mount 12.5" wide tires) but this was when he aired down to have some fun on a huge sand bar. Unless you are gonna air down for off-road use, the specs are close enough on the stockers to run 12.5" wide tires...

It is very possible you could tag a control arm at full lock, but other than that you will be good to go with 33x12.5's. I have seen a guy with no lift and stock wheels running 37's with no rub other than the control arms (on a 2500). I believe they were 13.5" wide too.
One thing to consider about the 12.5's, though, is they will not be as good of an on-road snow tire... just a little on the wide side.
While 12.5" tires are typically slightly wide for an 8" wide rim when looking at manufacturers specs, it certainly isn't by much (I think most suggest at least an 8.5" wide rim). People have been running 12.5's on 8" wheels for hundreds of thousands of years now

I dont remember my quote off hand I think it was like $240 for the 305/70 nittos and the 33/12.5 cepeks were like $265. I was going to order online but the loacal guy has decent pricing so I wont have to pay shipping and they will insatall.

NTB used to have buy get one free sales on NITTO tires about twice a year. That made getting a NITTO over a longer lasting tire reasonable. I have the crosstek tires but I think the trail grappers are very good looking tires. The crossteks have some of the side look of the grapper tire but they are much more road tires.
