I want to make it louder, and am going to put a magnaflow dual exhaust on it. but i want to know if i should do headers too? and are these mods hard? or could i do them myself? Can i put headers on later if i just do the cat back now?

welcome to the forums!

I just installed my borla cat-back today. Personally I would just start out by doing a cat back exhaust, installation is pretty simple and straight forward. The hardest part is taking off the stock exhaust. I would recommend not wasting your time time trying to un-bolt it. More than likely it needs to be cut off with a sawzall.

The exhaust was definitely a nice upgrade glad I did it. Truck has a great sound and definitely freed up some horsepower that I can feel.

The Magnaflow cat-back kit #16700 is pretty easy to install. The factory exhaust is all slip joint with band clamps at will come apart without any cutting. The Magnaflow kit goes back on the same way.

Oh, by the way, welcome to the forum.

Becky, I feel your pain. The 2007 Dodge Ram (I think half year 06's too) with the Hemi is one of the quietest Hemi fitted vehicles I've heard. I have friends with various year Dodge Ram 1500's 03, 04, 05, 08, 10' , Jeep Grand Cherokee with Hemi and they all had a nice sound to them. My friends 2500 Hemi truck has no resonators.

You could try removing the front and/or rear resonator first to see how you like it. This is how the 03/04 Dodge Ram came. 05 got a rear resonator, 07 got front and rear (due to MDS) and in 2008 they removed the front resonator. Now the 09+ is back to having a decent/good sound stock. IMO, the dual resonated Hemi (06+?, 07) were too passenger car sounding.

I opted for the Corsa cat back behind a Vibrant resonator.
