Default Just installed the K&N Intake, is the POP noise normal?

I just bought the intake with the plastic tube, 57series and WOW what a difference, I immediately saw better MPGs and performance but the sound is whats crazy. It sounds NIGHT and DAY difference. The question I have is the POP noise. I believe its the MDS kicking in and out and I called K&N and they said it was normal. Its like a POP or backfire kind of noise and it pretty much happens when I let off the throttle which is MDS kicks in, so I think I should be fine, also, I have the air pump, so where did you guys install that lower bracket to? The alternator bolt? Cant find where to install the lower saddle bracket on the AIR PUMP models which my 06 has.

I recently installed the AEM Brute force on my Hemi and I have no such popping noises. What I do have, however, is the sound of an F-5 tornado when I step on it and then the magnaflows start singing! I love it.

When you say "pop" are you sure you're just not hearing the EGR valve opening and closing? It's got a distinct sound to it that you can't really hear with the "Hemi Hat" on which is actually a baffle for the EGR sound. If this is what you are hearing, it's perfectly normal...

I would describe the sound as more of a metal on metal tap than a pop, myself.

Egr will close when you let off the gas, so that's probably what it is. I've noticed it's much more pronounced with a CAI that has a metal tube as opposed to plastic. The home-made ones muffle it pretty good as the PVC is pretty thick.
I used to notice it every time but over time I've gotten to where I don't hear it anymore...
