Second Gen 1500s were the last (of all US made trucks) to offer a SFA in a half-ton 4x4 truck. With the 3rd Gen 1500s (non MegaCabs) came torsion bar IFS front ends, using CV axles (half shafts), following GMs lead, from '02-'05. With the continuing trend towards making half-tons better for daily driving comfort for all the soccer moms out there, the move was made to coil-overs up front starting with the '06 1500s and for clearance went to even smaller diameter CV shafts.
In continuing this trend towards more car-like and less truck-like trucks, Dodge has gone to a coil-over rear with the 4th Gen trucks...

I actually think it is a little better because my stock ones were really shot. They didn't have any resistance left in them and i could easily move them where as the new skyjacker ones it was more difficult to.

Guess I should pb blast away this week, I really don't want to break bolts even more so on the suspension arms up front, granted I was a machinist and did heat treating also for many years, seems like when I break bolts they seem to be harder ones of the bunch. Did you use a breaker bar? Like hammer said that could of been my problem and the leverage could make it feel easier as I was using a ratchet.

O yeah I did use a breaker bar. Leverage is everything. It still was pretty easy to turn the wd-40 definitely helped
