Default Who is running monroe reflex or gas magnum shocks?

So my 02 ram has 107k on it and stock shocks. The rear end has bucked and bounced and kicked out over every bump in the road for the last 20k miles. I'm looking for a set of shock for under 200 bucks for the set of 4 and was thinking of getting these from rock auto. The truck is a daily driver, with the small load in the bed once of month. Its never off road. Any suggestions? Thanks

Dave

Monroe Reflex all 'round here. Tenneco recently had a rebate deal that netted all four down to $110 with a 5% coupon from Rock Auto. Easy install - made a bigger difference than I expected from the OEMs @ 111K

Buddy of mine replaced his crappy stock shocks on his '06 4x2 Hemi Ram with the Reflex's and he loves them...

Have Ranchco 5000 (Monroe/Tenneco) and have been happy with them over the last 40K. On my last ride they made good on the lifetime warranty when the rubber brushings rotted out after 150K. I find them on sale at various times during the year. A good middle grade shock.

Okay so it seems like you all are happy with them. Will they stop my back end from trying to pass the front on bumps while going around curves?

My take on Rancho 5000s (I had them on my 2nd Gen Ram) - Great shock for the money and yep you can expect to get well over 100k miles out of them, but I know a bunch of guys who HATE them. They are a primarily off-road shock and are on the stiff side. Personally, I like them and have my current RS9000s (next model up & adjustable) tuned 3/4 of the way up toward the stiffest setting.

If you like your truck to ride like a truck (and I obviously do) then you will like the RS5000s, if you want a truck that rides like a car with a bed, then you won't.

Also, if looking at RS5000s, look at ProComp ES9000s, Like the Rancho they are a Tenneco shock & basically a clone of the Rancho 5000s and for all I know Tenneco makes them on the same assembly line. Normal price on the ProComps are about $38 each and 4 Wheel Parts is forever running a "buy 3 get 1 free" sale on them, netting them to about $28.50 per shock...

Bilstein HD's up front, softer Relfexes in back. Set-up runs great, replaced at 50K and made a world of difference.

Monroe Sensa-Trac did me well. Very smooth ride with a lite load.
