Default Power Programmer

I got an 02 1500 with the 5.9 360 and I'm wanting to get a programmer for it but I cant decide whether to go with a Superchips, Hypertech, or the SCT. Any suggestions?

Superchips is the preferred programmer for your application. I am using a Superchips in my '02 Ram 1500 QC 4X4 5.9l. Depending what you are trying to accomplish with a programmer the best results in actual fuel economy and hp gains have been with the 91+ octane performance tune installed.

Hypertech is a joke, or at least was as of about two/three years ago.

Your realistic choices are either Superchips (40 HP gain @ 2200 rpm, 80 lb/ft Torque gain @ 2000 rpm) which is about the highest gains I've ever seen on a gasser. OR an SCT with a custom tune written for it...

Doesn't DSP have more gains than the superchips?

Last I knew Diablo didn't even support the 5.9 Magnum...

Not for me, no tranny support from the Diablo kinda sucks. IMO it's the tranny firmer line pressures and the improved shift points (even without the optional tranny tuning feature) that makes your head snap back when you give it the gas.

Might be different with some of the newer years Diablo chose to support the transmission on, but I've tried both on my truck and for me the SC was a no brainer...

Hammer is right, Hypertech is the biggest POS Ever. I have one and it does nothing, no trans change, no speed change, no power change, and made my milage worse. but on a good note It's big enough to hide a gap in the dash...
