Default Help me build my truck

Ok so I bought my truck in october thinking it would be a decent daily driver for what i needed. I recently got hired with a company that requires a lot of driving. I get paid mileage but I dont want to rack on miles on my truck and if i drive something that gets good mileage i will make out because they pay more per mile than it costs me to drive my truck already.

I plan on buying a geo tracker or some other sort of cheap decent mileage car.

I put my truck up for sale on craigslist but people do not want to give me what i want and i do not want to take a big loss i bought the truck with 96k on it and since ive owned it i put 5k on it....96k and 101k is a huge difference when selling a vehicle. It sounds stupid but it is what it is.

Ill cut to the chase, I want to make my truck a sort of show truck of some sort. lift it maybe 6 inches with 37's. What type of lift is decent but still wallet friendly? I will not really be offroading it maybe 2 times a year. I was thinking about different gears too heres a pic of my truck and a pic of another ram kind of what i want mine to look like. If thats someones truck from here....nice truck my friend I like it!

Its an 03 ram single cab shortbed with a 4.7...id like a hemi but its what i have.

This is what i would like my truck to look similar in size to. Any other mod suggestions would be cool too

That is at least a 6 inch suspension lift with a 3 inch body lift.

The higher you go with suspension lifts on IFS (02-up 1500s) the higher the angle of the cv axles, more stress on ball joints etc. 37s and cv axles do not mix. If you want say 6 7 inches of lift, get you a good 4 inch suspension kit such as the zone off road or the rancho then get a 3 inch body lift. Those two stacked are far stronger than a 6 inch suspension alone. Any tire 35 or bigger, 4.56 gears are your best bet.

Thanks for the input fellas I didnt know about the cv issuse with a big suspension lift. Will i have to buy a different length drive shaft or axles? I dont know too much about lifts and this type of thing so any sort of info is greatly appreciated. I saw a rear out of a srt 10 on craigslist for 600 bucks, the srt 10 has the 4.56 gearing right? would that work on my truck?

If you get a longer driveshaft made. Srt 10 rear axle is a dana 60 with 4.56 gears and those are pretty hefty. I've heard of people doing a swap, go for it. If you can find some heavy duty or high angle cv axles from KORE then you can get away with a good sized lift, just be careful.

so youre saying without going out and buying new axles and drive shafts my best bet is to just buy a decent 4" lift and buy maybe a 3" body lift?

If you do have a 4x4, then yes a 4 inch suspension 3 inch body is the stronger setup. Hammer can't you usually tell if its a 4x4 just by lookin at how high it sits stock?

No, there are some 4x4s that actually sit lower in the front than some 2WDs. It all just depends how the factory made it. But if he is a 4x4 then if you get the SRT10 rear remember you'll also have to change the front end gears as well.
