Aluminum Fidanza Flywheel for 5.7 HEMI
Does anybody know if this is a worthwhile mod? I have an aluminum flywheel for my Ford Probe Gt and it made a big difference in engine performance. I know the stock wheels over 20 pounds and the fidanza is at 13. Any input will be appreciated. I have an 05 Ram 1500 QC HEMI with the 5 speed Automatic, and 3.92 gears.

Auto flexplates are stamped steel and weigh like 12lbs. Alum flexplates are maybe 8lbs. 4lbs wont make any difference in your rotating mass when already attached to a 50lb+ 8qt fluid filled torque converter.
What guys get Alum flexplates if for Manual trans. Reason is because there is much more material(steel is ~40lbs and Alum ~16lbs) That much weight savings allows the engine to rev much quicker. This means a faster rev in between gear shifts.
All the work for an auto and cost of mod = useless.
