I wanna get some opinions on this...I'm leaning towards doing a 7/4 lift and riding around on my 285/70r17s until they are worn down or I can afford a set of BFG AT 315/70r17. That might be awhile though...and I know if I go with the 5/2 it'll look ok with the 285's, I'll just end up having to buy new tires, a new block and new coil springs when I look to upgrade my tires...so, what say you?
The reason I am holding back on purchasing a lift is due to tires. I just dont have that extra $$$$$ for tires. Have 33s on now but with a 6 inch lift it will look a little odd. But, if you can bare to deal with what it will look like I would go for it! More power to you and more motivation to get those meaty tires. Best of luck!
I've got a 3" BL on mine with 33" tires (295/75/17... I think... diameter is 32.8, I believe), and it's borderline goofy looking in the wheel wells. Anything more would definitely want 35" tires. I wanted to go with 35" tires, but practicality made me keep the 33's, again.
Unfortunately, 2wd, I want a 4x4, but don't have the funds yet, maybe in a year or two....doing this so I don't get bored and wanna go out and buy a new truck.
I'm saying 7" may be too high for a 2WD in general. especially with the bigger tires as you're gonna wear out suspension parts quickly. Just kep that in mind but if you're doing for just looks and not offroading at all then it should be fine I suppose

Got ya...I'll be changing out upper and lower CA eventually, both have less than 10,000 miles on them already, changed them out when I put my spacers on. I'll be doing light offroading, nothing crazy, just driving around river bottoms chasing hogs during the spring and summer.
