Question Mod ideas

I have a 2002 Dodge Ram 1500 2wd 4.7 Quad Cab! All i've done is put a Flowmaster 40 series muffler on. What should I do next? Programmer? CAI? I want to level or lift my truck? Performance upgrades maybe help out gas mileage some as well. HELP ME OUT PLEASE.

Thanks

I would say step one would be to take that highly restrictive, chambered muffler off and replace it with one that has a decent CFM (flow) rate.

Any power adders will be hampered until you free up the exhaust...

ALL Chambered mufflers restrict flow. The more chambers, the greater the restriction for the most part. Flowmasters are all about sound, not about performance. I have a Magnaflow which is not a chambered muffler and like the sound alot!
A 2002, I would work on your maintenance schedule and change things like your plugs, trnas fluid, diff fluid and definately your coolant. 4.7l's are known for clogged radiators from old coolant causing internal corrosion which overheats the motor and warps the heads.
Get ahead on your maintenance before you have problems. No need to spend money on stuff and then have your truck break on you.

I'd go for looks and sound, for whatever pleases you. So, keep your dronemaster if you like it and do your lift for the asthetics. You wont be getting much performance out of bolt ons for the 4.7L. You could do CAI, programmer, highest flow catback out there...etc and still not gain much performance yet spend over $1k.

Whatever you do, spend extra time researching it, dont impulse buy or you'll end up wasting money. There's lots of threads that have great advice and technical information on here. You just need to spend some time researching is all. It could save you money.

Is the Dynomax Race Magnum a full setup or muffler only? Could not find it as a muffler option.

Go to the 3rd Gen FAQ section and do a search for "MUFFLER CFM"...
