Are Cooper Zeon LTZ's worth the extra$$$$
Im getting new shoes for the truck any day now and live in South Carolina, so no snow and I dont do much offroading. I love the look of the LTZ's, but they are $1130 installed at local pep boys(not a big fan of) with a rebate for 1 tire free($215), so around 915 installed. Another place is like $1065 for the LTZ's and $758 for the Discover HT plus total installed. Just wondering though if most would suggest spending the extra coin of the LTZ's or go with the cheaper Discovers?
My ratings of the LTZ
Snow driving 6/10
Heavy rain 9/10
Dry pavement 9/10
Clay mud 7/10
They are outstanding in the rain. Here's Coopers ratings
Pricing, you can get the online shipped to your door for around $900 and $880. Dang they got pricey!! I paid $680shipped 3yrs ago. Most shops charge $20 a tire to mount and balance(+$80). The good thing about online ordering, is you save on the sales tax(if they aren't in your state). There are pros/cons to online ordering, but I have not had any issue's. Looks like PeckerBoys has a comparable pricing to online, unless you can get that same rebate with online ordering which I did not see on Coopers website?
Dicover H/T is a plain jane nothing special tire and they certainly wont handle as good as the LTZ which has a stiffer sidewall and higher weight capacity being an XL rated tire. You'll fit right into the daily life with those Dicover tires...lol Here's the list of Cooper truck tires. They are towards the bottom of the list.
For $160, you'll be very happy with the choice just by looks alone. The handling will be added bonus.

I bought the LTZs because I wanted my truck to be able to do more "truckly" things than typical 20 inch tires with street tread could do. They do anything I'm willing to do with my truck extremely well and I plan to use them as long as they're produced.
In the size I use, they do throw a lot of crap down the side of the truck and I wish I had added fender flares. I hope to do so soon.
Here they are in 305/50/20 for your viewing pleasure:

My buddy has Cooper Zeons on his 06 Ram with 20's, and they are an awesome tire. If you like the look of a raised white letter tire, I just had Firestone Destination AT's installed on my 07 Hemi Quad 4X4 last weekend. My tire size is 275/60/20, and the out the door price was $870. These tires not only look awesome, they have a 50,000 mile tread life warranty.

Try to buy them on-line. Then take them to Sams or Walmart and have them installed. Sams charged me $15 per tire mounted and balanced on my wifes grand cherokee. I paid about $500 for the tires(Firestone Destinations AT) through Treadepot.com. Total paid I believe was $560. Hope this helps.
I just put that out there for anyone else considering 305s. I knew what I was getting into -- I just thought I'd be able to afford flares sooner!
