MPG improvement
You can definitely improve mpg by removing you egr, pcv, and throttle body. Buy a can of maf sensor cleaner and go to town removing the carbon build up. When I grounded by tb I noticed how filthy it was, which made me curious about the egr and pcv as well. All were very dirty. After clean up and new grounded tb I see I rock solid idle and 1.7 mpg improvement. I also pulled the hemi hat and replaced it with a 3" sch 40 90^ to improve air flow.
I clean my TB every 15k miles, PCV every 30k and replaced my EGR at 50k even though it hadn't generated a CEL yet. The EGR was surprisingly clean (maybe because about 80% of the truck use is open road?) so I cleaned out what little crud was in it and put it in the box the new one came in for a spare.
It's VERY beneficial to clean the TB on these newer emissions vehicles where both the PCV and EGR dump unburnt fuel/airborne oil contaminants/etc. into the throttle body...

I originally did it in an attempt to see what it take to get a straight piece of tubing in there (different one of course) so I could paint one up and remove the restriction. Problem was there was not a round part to the hat. Its round on the bottom but flat on top. But it really gives you an idea of how many chambers it has for noise cancellation and the restrictions it has as well.
I saw that one Y but wasn't sure if it would work, thanks Hammer! What is this about Grounding the TB is there an issue there? Thanks again!
I haven't looked at 4.7 03whiteram but I would look underneath it and see what the setup is. If it has the Y then I would replace it with a better one as well too.
