Default need some muffler advice...been reading

Need some help.
2004 Hemi

i have a stock exhaust system with a fowmaster muffler (dont know which since it was on there when i bought it). love the sound but the drone on the highway is getting real old.

reading through FAQ section and searching im leaning towards magnaflow but any opinions/advice would be great. also which style/model of magnaflow if so.

i dont want a dead silent OE sound but no droning either.

thanks guys!

If you have a cold air intake installed, you may find the drone is actually coming from there. On my truck it was so bad and loud inside the truck my dogs didn't want to ride with me. The little guy would just shake. Couldn't hear the stereo on hwy mountain passes.
towing the RV was horrible. Its a lot better since I put a factory airbox back on. I still have the hemi hat eliminated though so there is a bit of noise from that still, but not near as bad.

I put a 21" Magnaflow on my truck, custom Y and tails are out the side in the rear at 45 deg. Down. Truck sounded great until 70 to 75 mph where it had a horrible drone. To remedy this I asked my exhaust shop to throw a resignator just before the Magnaflow. Well he didnt have the res. In stock so he put a 10" muffler that was also a straight through muffler in. Its much quieter when it is cold but when it warms up it sounds great. No performance loss, no nasty drone.

Wow I thought a 10" length would have more drone and much more louder vs 20"+

Good to know.

The 10" is in there before the 21", it acts as a resignator. They are both on there in line.

I've only got 8" glasspacks, one on each pipe off of Longtubes, out the side.
No drone, but so loud that I continue to get complaints from neighbors, my high school, and the police. Oh well XD

Yep, I had a really bad drone, right at highway cruising speed with my old Flowmaster 50, cut that POS out and replaced it with a Cherry Bomb Extreme - it's louder than hell, but doesn't drone one bit...

I've got the Cherry bomb extreme on my Ford Probe GT, and you're right. No drone and make the car's V6 sound like a Supra.
