Monitor computer choices...
I tried a search and went to the "Tuner" thread but found nothing like what i want to know.
I have an 06' 1500 4X4 that is my daily driver. I do not race, go 4 wheeling or anything that is remotley fun. What i do care about is maintaining it and keeping a check on the systems. So i want to add an aftermarket unit that monitors the OBD data. I do not want to buy and mount individual gauges. Way too much hassle and cost.
I am trying to decide between three units.
1. Bully Dog Watchdog ($255.00)
2. Bully Dog GT Tuner ($335.00)
3. AeroForce Interceptor ($249.99)
Reading information from the manufacturers websites of the above units, i do not fully understand what i can and cannot do with each. I have heard mixed answers as to whether any or all of them can monitor Transmission tempatures without adding an additional sensor.
I like the compact size of the AeroForce unit, but it's that same compact size that makes me not like it when you compare how much larger and nicer the Bully Dog display is. Any thoughts from people who have seen both in person?
The other issue is it worth going with the Bully Dog tuner vs the Watchdog? It's less then a hundred bucks more, but considering that fact that as i mentioned, i am happy with the performance of my truck now, is the tuner a waste? Is everything it does geared towards racing?
Lastly, i have seen three possible mounts. Windshield mounts (which i do not like), dash mount (maybe) and A Pillar mount (Looks slick). The only thing i don't like about the A Pillar mount is how visible the unit is to thieves. Especially the Bully Dog units. Anybody have any other mounting suggestions?

I'm looking into this as well, and I'm also looking at http://www.plxdevices.com/gauges.php specifically at the DM-100 or DM-200. I won't buy anything from any body until I know if they will let me monitor transmission temps. If none do, but a sensor can be added to allow me to monitor it, then I'll see which one will let me do that the easiest.

I have sent a request for information regarding tranny temps, and as for mounting it, I haven't really spent any time looking as of yet. If I decide on the DM-200, I'm sure I'll find a mounting kit that will work just fine.
I just did a quick search and found numerous options, so I'm not worried. http://motors.shop.ebay.com/i.html?_nkw=60mm+gauge+pod

EDIT: Wait, found one for the Ram: http://www.amazon.com/03-08-Dodge-Si.../dp/B004JY0XSM
Looks like this may be what i go with.
This one looks perfect as a single 60mm gauge holder that is not crude looking. And for less then 10 bucks, how can you go wrong?

Does anybody know where to get spray paint that matches the grey dashboard of the 3rd gen Ram's? Would love to paint this pod to match.

Just got off the phone with Bully Dog. I asked if either of their units will read Transmission Temp on 5.7 Hemi and the answer was "Maybe". He said the list of paramaters their units will read is just that, a list of items it WILL read. But it will only read it if the OBD system gives the information. He said he knows for sure it will read the trans temp on Ram Diesel trucks but cannot for sure it will read it on the gas trucks. Same goes for Fuel Rail pressure and Intake air temp.
Does anybody have a Bully Dog unit and can confirm?
