Pacesetter LT's are gonna be about the best bang for your buck for improvement. As for fitment, your exhaust before the cats will have to be modified in order to fit them in, but nothing that any exhaust shop couldn't easily do. I'm looking to get some for my truck soon.

I'm not sure what this means, but I'll take a stab at it. As long as you reinstall ALL of the O2 sensors in same positions as they were prior to the change, there shouldn't be any issues. (pre-cat sensors reinstall as pre-cat, and post-cat as post-cat) Some people eliminate any O2 sensors that were after the cats by installing an O2 simulator. The other option is to reinstall them in the pipe along with an extension that is normally used for spark plugs that are getting fouled with oil. These remove the O2 sensor out of the exhaust stream enough to fool the PCM into thinking the cats are still there.

As long as you are keeping your cat(s), the only thing you will need to do is extend the wiring for any O2 sensors that don't reach their correct positions when you reinstall them. No engine codes should come up as far as I have ever heard of, unless something gets damaged or left unplugged during the install. Then it wouldn't the headers causing the engine code, but installer error.

Emissions testing is another thing altogether if you live in an area that requires it. If that is the case, then LT's will not be a good choice for you.
