Default Stock Infinity stereo in my '05 and IPOD compatability

I need a push in the direction of learning how best to setup my I Pod to play through my truck's stock Infinity stereo. I guess in '05 there was no AUX jack to plug in my tunes.

Any advice would be hugely appreciated.

I love my AWD, not 4x4 truck!!!

Thanks,

Gunzer

There should be an auxiliary connection in the back, you might have to buy an adaptor, and run the wire through your glove box. I have done that to a few of my trucks and I just did it in my old ladies Tundra.

Hmmm...I was wondering the same thing. But there is no mode to choose to Aux on the head unit! Or am I missing something?

Yes, it will go through your cd. Push cd for compact disc, then push it again and it will recognize an input through the rear and play your ipod.

I bought an adapter from Bestbuy that plugs into the CD changer port on the stock radio. It was expensive 180 for the unit but very easy to install.(10 min in the parking lot with a crappy screwdriver) To finish off the install I drilled a half inch hole in the back of the stock storage compartment that is under the radio to run the wire through.

I like running the wire through the glove box because its hidden. Just make yourself a couple of good playlist and keep your ipod in the glove compartment and its a nice clean look. My local stereo shop charged me $50.00 which included the install.

Until the CD player half of your stock head unit dies... Things are POS. Get an aftermarket head unit with USB port and/or AUX jack imo. Sounds better, looks nicer and way more options. Most are even built in bluetooth now... hello 4g streaming radio wirelessly. I run the Kenwood KDC-X695, can't bluetooth audio but it has both usb and aux 3.5mm jack, plus bluetooth built in for phone calls. Nice unit and under $160.
