high mileage survey
I started really doing performance mods around 94k and i have most if not all major bolt ons for a stock block. Going great @ 125k with the only issues being drive shaft related. Also the aftermarket mods were upgraded not replaced which means the stock parts were working perfect prior to removal.
The only section that is mostly untouched is the interior/audio.

Not a Ram but the 4.7 in my Grand Cherokee dropped a valve at 102k miles last week. Never abused, never over-heated, full synthetic fluids like clockwork.
Don't know the extent of the damage yet, but I'm hoping it's contained to the head.
Not a big 4.7 fan right now...

Originally Mine had the 100k 7 year warranty. I got it Nov 6, 2001. I didn't even see another 3rd gen on the road for a month after I got it. Now Its time to hot rod. Auburn 542070. I have the 3.55 rear with 17" wheels thinking about getting 3.90 gears but I think It might be too low. But then again I want some crager ss style chromes in 20"s to fill up the wheel well. Any body got any advice on this?
I just rolled 60,000 miles today on my '05. Not high mileage, per se, but I don't think I've ever owned a vehicle long enough to put 60K on the dial before. I think 30K on my Triumph motorcycle is my previous record!
Anyway, I'm slowly but surely working on it now that I have the means and am physically able to do it again. Brake pads and rotors are on the way. Next up is an E-Fan kit in the next month or two and then a Super Chips tuner. I have to see where it fits into the finances. We've got a few trips planned this year that are eating into my truck fund!
I want new gears and headers, but I'm not sure yet of any place over here that I can get it done and trust to do it the right way.

My Auburn was installed a little over a month ago and is going great so far. 3.92 is liveable if it suits your needs but imo the difference from 3.55's will be very minimal.

My dad's has something like 118,700 or so on it.
Nothing done to the engine other than a couple tune ups.
Been through a set of front brakes, 2 steering racks, a trans service, 2 u-joints, a couple sets of tires, and a rear end service.
Been a good truck too. Still needs shocks and ball joints me thinks.
My dad has owned it for 6 years. 2002 Ram 4.7
