The only hole I drilled was a small one at the bottom of the fan shroud to get the wires through. In "my garage" or whatever it's called I have a pic of the underside if you want to see where I drilled, but you could prob get away with pinching them between the seal and radiator. I don't like that look but I'm sure it'd work fine.

Ok Im back at my computer so I pulled that pic of the underside. It is an easy hole to drill. Like I said it isn't necessary but it makes for a cleaner install.

Is the fan clutch nut a reversed thread (e.g. clockwise to remove)?

I cant remeber if its reversed thread or not, But i ended up using air chisel, to jolt the threads lose. Worked in under 1 second. Just angle in the direction you want it to move. Like an impact minus the socket.

Nice clean install. I did mine a few months ago. But i put the VSC unit onto the fan shroud to keep wires short on motor side. Now that i see yours i kinda wish i put mine elsewhere

I plan to do this one day as well. From all my research and reading, it is normal threads. So if you are standing in front of the truck, looking at the engine, you will turn it CCW to loosen it.

one of the best upgrades ive done. well worth it and noticable mpg gains.

Im just worried that one day the fan will break, and ill overheat and be stuck on the side of the road. And need to replace fan.

Its sounds like some people are having trouble getting the clutch fan off. Like Got Mitch said use an air hammer with a chisel and lightly hit the nut to the left and it will break loose right away. Works on all clutch fans.

Very clean. Even with the shroud in place it cleans up the space.
