Default 2004 Quad Cab 1500 Hemi Magnum adding Nav?

My truck has the factory infinity system, I have seen the same truck with factory Nav...... Question to you guys, is it worth me getting the factory nav unit 399. ? and will it just plug in, or do I go Pioneer Avic or similar for slightly more $$

Always liked factory, but is the truck all set up for the Nav system I wonder ???

thanks in advance for advise

The factory Nav system is CD driven..... i`m just wondering if it would be a plug and go situation in my truck with the infinity sound system, or course I would have to add the nav antenna and cd ........

You can get a nice and lower model Pioneer double DIN new for 350 and I can custom build you a bezel for it to fit in the dash.

Yeah. It should be a direct fit if its a higher trim level like an slt. Should have all the wires there. If i rememeber correctly in the truck i saw with nav it had the same dash pieces right?

My only worry with the factory nav unit would be getting modern maps. A lot has changed in the past 8+ years.

I got a nice Kenwood double din for cheap and cut my dash for it. The factory double din matching navi bezel is $100 on Amazon I believe. This is for my later 08 so yours may vary.

I considered upgrading to a nav unit when I put in a new stereo a few months ago. I came to the conclusion that I'd only be doing it for the "bling" factor, and when all is said and done I could just get a portable GPS for a fraction of the cost that did more and was more easily updatable.
