Thumbs down Diagnose This Crash

Unfortunate event where a friend of mines, lost control of the truck and slammed into a tree at about 20-35mph. Another friend of mines deemed the truck total, since he suspects that the chassis twisted. I decline. Is this truck a total lost, or is repairable? Can you point out the damages?

It would probably be cheaper to scrap it that's for sure. The entire driveline dropped out and that bed is totaled. The engine should be salvageable though

I would be willling to bet that the frame is bent, just looking at those pics. Could always part it out with the parts that are undamaged, but IMO I would not try to rebuild it...

Hard to determine without looking at the frame directly and even so, the straightness of the frame can sometimes not be seen with the naked eye. The rear differential was seemingly ripped from the chassis. That seems to be the worst part.

Clutch pack retaining clips fell out and locked up the rear end. Likely sent the truck skidding sideways and which is why the driveashaft broke off.

I'd say its a girls truck too. Based on the girl sticker in the back window...lol
Also, it may have not happened if those Confederate flags weren't sported on the truck...???

I think those firemen need to tell her she's parked in a Tow Away Zone too...rofl

I don't think the driveshaft snapped...if you look closely you can still see the yoke attached to the driveshaft...

OK, well maybe it fell out when the rear end got bent back from hitting the tree.
I still say the rear diff locked up.

Off topic but how many post do you get a day just replying with this link?, can't you just move the thread to right section...

I keep seeing it in a lot of threads, I just don't see it as an answer to the OPs question but more annoying maybe we can have a vote and deem you the "Dodge Forum Thread Section Enforcer"

Back on topic, I agree with most everyone here that we can't see the frame so cant determine if it is totalled but if I was your friend I would hope the insurance company determines it is totalled so he can get a new truck
