Choosing some black rims
Not really a black rim guy but I'm starting to set my Ram up for my son. We are going to replace the 20" daisies with some 17 x 9 black aftermarket rims. I was fairly set on the first ones pictured below, mostly based on price. They are VTEC Raptors. The others pictured are in order of his liking. The second 2 are Moto Metals, 951's and 956's, and the 4th ones are Helo Maxx's. Anyone know anything about any of these brands or models to speak to the quality of one over the other? Opinions are welcome too as they won't hurt my feelings. This is for my son and our tastes are vastly different.
Oh, and yes I am planning on leveling the truck first.

The truck in my sig pic is the truck. It's getting smoked out LED's in the rear and maybe some tint in the front windows. Not much chrome on the truck, but it is silver and has SS nerf bars on it. So I agree that a hint of silver on the rims won't hurt. And I like the second ones as well from that standpoint. But are Moto Metals any better or worse with respect to quality/reputation than the VTEC's? I know nothing about these things.
I kinda like the first one and the last one. But I'm old school and there are very few "modern" wheels that I like.
I'm more into the Classics:
Radical for me would be to put bead locks on 'em:

Yeh, Hammer, I still think nothing looks better than shiny chrome. I remember when I got my set of Cragar Mags installed on my old Mustang II when I was 16. But it's all about the blacked out look these days. I can deal with 1 or 2 in my post above. 3 or 4 are too over the top for me but, fortunately he likes 2 the best. Since a member seems to have posted a pic of the rims I want with the tires I want and it looks pretty darn good, I think I'm convinced.
This was posted in a thread I started about the tires. My son really liked it:

I like the first ones but I'm into the all blacked out look and absolutely hate chrome I think it's tacky but maybe I say that is because everyone where I live put it all over their vehicles like the handles and door liners and the lists goes on

The problem with chrome nowadays is it's gotten cheap. Back in the day when they put a thick plating on it was like looking into glass and the reflection was DEEP. Now it's a thin *** coating that's actually thinner a strand of hair so no deep reflection and it scratches and pits in no time.
I'm now more into diamond plate and stainless steel than actual chrome. My only problem with the "blacked out" look is all the kids around here have done it and it's just everywhere you look, especially amongst the ricer crowd. Way back when my truck was new I actually started going with all black accessories, there are pics on this forum from years ago showing my truck with a black tool box, black nerfs and black tailgate/bed trim. I like the black on red, but EVERYBODY started doing black and I just had to be different, and IMO the sh*t does look good when it shines... LOL...

Sorry to steal the thread, Greg. Back on track - what about the Cepek DC2s or Torques???

or the MT Sidebiters just to add to the mix...

I like the last set. If I were going to get a set, I'd consider those. Do you know what brand those are? Black and Chrome looks great as long as its not too blingy. I think the black with either a polished or chrome lip have always looked really nice.
