Default New shocks and Amsoil

So i finally had a chance to get the shocks in installed and i can only say wow wish i had done this sooner. I went with Rancho RS5000 and they are awesome....i usually drive the same roads when i do leave the house and it was completely different. Bumps i used to avoid i hardly noticed where there.

Also my dad got some amsoil from a guy he works with as he has a 04 Ram as well. He picked up some for me and all i can say is my hemi tick is GONE! Its not there one bit!

Nice, I had RS5000s on my 2nd Gen and liked them, RS9000x on this truck and they are even nicer.

That "Hemi Tick" does vary a lot depending on the oil. I found it's loudest with Mobil 1 and faintest (barely detectable) with both Royal Purple and Valvoline SynPower. Only other oil I've had in it was Castrol Syntec and the tick was softer than with Mobil 1 but louder than RP or Valvoline...

Well Mobil 1 was what i had been running in it because Wal-Mart had a 5 quart jug for $21 for the longest time.....and the tick was VERY noticeable, but with the Amsoil its not even there....

Would those same shocks fit the front of my truck if I just level it (no lift front or rear)? If so, do you have the part numbers you got? I think that model was one of the ones on my list to consider anyway. Nice to hear a first hand report on them.

I'm looking at RockAuto right now. In the RS5000 model, they have part #RS5283 which says "Front w/4 in Lift; 4WD; For Use With Rancho PN[RS6573] System" and then they have part #RS5373 which says "Front w/1 in Lift; Front w/1.5 in Lift; Front w/1.75 in Lift; Front w/2 in Lift; 4WD". Seems to me the second one is what I'm looking for, right?

Front -RS5373
Rear - RS5274

These are for 1-2 inches of lift.

I have some popular shock brands with their part numbers for various lift heights in the FAQ section, but y'all will have to search for it, on my phone and searching then coming back to a post is a PIA...

5.7, that's what I am going to do as well and is why I was asking about the front shocks.

Hammer, I haven't gone back to look but I'm fairly sure the RS5000's were one of the ones you mentioned in your sticky, which would be why I had them on my list of possibilities.
