Default Opinions on going Black on Blue

Hey guys,

Been reading on this forum a while, but this is my first post. I have an 05' 1500 4x4 with the 5.7 in it, I bought it last fall when I had to get rid of my Z4 due to baby #1. Absolutely love the truck and have gotten lots of great ideas for mods off this forum.

My question is, has anyone blacked out their chrome on a patriot blue truck? I have looked through a lot of the picturessts on plasti-dip but never saw a blue/black one. I think I def want to do the wheels, and may do the bumpers too but wasn't sure if it would look weird blue on black. Anyone done it and happy with the results?

Thanks!

I think it would look good. Especially with a non-glossy, matte finish. I'm not really a fan of Plastidipping the chrome grille/crosshairs, but that's just my personal tastes. I think a blue/black combo would look good.

sounds cool, but if i were you take it step further and get some matte black carbon fiber di-noc by 3m, the sell it at metro restyling .com. its the best stuff ever you can crumple it up and wad it up all you want and can take it back to original with no wrinkles or problems by adding a little heat. you can get it glossy, matte, pewter, whatever lol! i did my interior and my mirrors in it and its great.

Is this good enough or do you need a shot of the whole body?

Nate- That stuff looks pretty cool, idk about trying to wheels with it though, seems like it might take a beating. How's it holding up on your mirrors?

If blacking out is your thing, the black on blue isn't a bad look at all. I haven't seen any RAMs but there are several blacked out bowties running around here in a couple different shades of blue and they look good.

I've seen a couple patriot blue rams that had blacked out chrome and it does look good. But those people used line-x or the rhino spray and also did the rockers too which make it look really good in my opinion
