Buying an '07 1500 TRX4
Hi, I have been mulling about the Dakota forums for some time, but recently decided I need more truck to pull my toys. I'm looking at an '07 1500 TRX4 with the 5.7 Hemi. Is there any common issues or "pet peeves" I should keep an eye out for?
I took it for a test drive a couple days ago and it felt really solid on the road, had plenty of power on the highway and had a solid feel over rough terrain. Brakes feel a tiny bit "pulsey," but on every dodge I've ever owned, the rotors never last too long. I had a jeep that annihilated 4 sets of rotors in a year and a half.
All in all I'm impressed. I drove a '09 Ram as well, a 5.7 Hemi, but I wasn't impressed. All the computer mumbo-jumbo in the dash was distracting. Also tried a GMC Sierra, but the interior was awful. Bland and boring.
Thanks, and hope to post more on here if I do end up buying.

So I did end up buying it. I have had it since last Wednesday. I love it. The mileage is great, I wasn't expecting a whole lot in terms of mileage anyways. I am getting EDIT:11.4 MPG city, and haven't taken it on the highway much yet to know how it is there.
It's the TRX version, so it has the suspension upgrade and it feels solid. I am looking at putting some black rims with chrome accents on to replace the 17" stock ones, I don't really want to go bigger in case it adversely affects its off-road ability.
All in all, I am very impressed! And I just found an extra 12v power adapter in the rear behind the armrest. It doesn't get any better. Haha.
As a side note (apologies for the long-winded post), it was owned by a heavy smoker previously so it stunk inside pretty bad. To remove the smoke smell, I have put Ziplock tubs of fresh coffee grounds inside, about 5 of them, and change them every few days. Pulled the stench right out! Just FYI if someone has a smelly interior!
EDIT: and it was $15,500 Canadian, 111,650kms. Deal of the year? Lol.

It rained yesterday, so I went out to a friend's farm nearby for a little one-on-one with a King Ranch Ford truck through his light mud-bog. I got through but he got dug in pretty good, probably because of the extra weight. I think the King Ranch is an F250 or 350? But I couldn't pull him out. He had to grab his Deere.
