Default E Fan help!

I am looking at doing this mod to my 05 ram. I am having trouble finding exactly what i need to do this mod. I saw some people using a taurus fan? I am new to the forum and looking for some help from fellow ram owners! thanks in advance, Collin

Search around, there's tons of posts on efans and what people put into them. I'm sure you can find everything you need, and good luck man!

I used a Taurus fan and a Hayden 3647 fan controller from Advance Auto. Use the controller on the low speed side of the fan and NOT the high speed or you will pull to many amps, blow fuses or melt the controller

Brother, whats so hard about it?

Hayden 3647 has a few extra wires you wont use but these are the ones you will

black to ground
orange to the low speed of the taurus fan
red to constant 12v
yellow to switched 12v

THATS IT....seriously.

Plug the probe in the rad fins and tape off all the other wires

Flex-a lite has a fan called a 180 Black magic extreme. It comes with its own shroud that is just the right size to actually fit inside the factory shroud. All you need is a little all thread and about an hour and its done. It blows 3300 cfm and draws 18 amps. I've had one on my 06 ram for 5 years now, and never blown a fuse. This is the best fit I've seen for the rams. 319.00 in summitt catalog. This is an S blade and a puller

There is a new package deal made for 03 - 08 non diesel trucks, the flex a lite 183. Comes with everything in the 180 (above) plus mounting brackets top and bottom, and another bracket to hold your over flow/ window washer tanks. I should take some pictures of mine. looks clean.

Got mitch, I haven't seen the one you're talking about, but the 180 also has the mounting brackets, and when you put in inside the factory shroud, you don't need a bracket to hold overflow or windshield washer tanks because they stay in the stock position. Mine looks absolutely stock with the exception of the thermostat and the temp probe. The shroud hasn't been moved, and just in case the electric fan goes out, I believe I have enough room to remount the factory fan without taking it all apart. You are correct in saying that flexalite is the way to go. They also stand behind their products
