Default Looking to get New programmer

I need help on deciding on what programmer I want to get for my truck. I have a 5.7 and would like to get a programmer that has a economy tune and a towing tune because I have a camper. Im just looking for the best one out there that will still let me adjust my tire size!! Please Help

Superchips 3865. Has all of those plus optional transmission tuning for custom shift schedules. But I will say if you want a tuner for an "Economy tune" save your money and stay where you're at because that's not what a tuner is made for even though they all come with those tunes now. You will see better gains all around (power and MPG) with the performance tune

If you look at the Programmer poll in the DIY/FAQ section, you'll see that Superchips has 4x the votes of the 2nd place brand (Diablo). That's one of the major reasons I have an SC Cortex on the way. Cortex and Flashpaq both have all the features you're looking for. Cortex has a warranty, but Flashpaq is about $30 cheaper.

Cheapest place I've found (for a new one) is www.tunepartspro.com. $300.74 + $12 S&H for Cortex, $272.69 + $12 S&H for Flashpaq. That's where I ordered mine from.

The Flashpaq is also the one that has the optional tranny tuning. Both can be found in the classifieds on here and similar forums for way cheaper. I paid about 200 for mine you just have to make sure the previous owner resets their truck to stock before you buy it

Tunepartspro is horrible. I ordered mine there and ended up canceling my order because a week later it still hadn't even shipped.

Ive been looking into the INTUNE I1000 from Diablo not only is it the newest programmer out its universal and you can create a custom tune or used their pre loaded tunes.

Even if it is the newest, you wont be able to create a custom tune yourself though unless you purchase CMR.
OP having a 05 is nice since that year PCM is meant to be the most friendly.

Seems like anything over 04 pulls more out of a programmer. But i will agree on SC i have the old version and im still happy

For just towing and no major performance upgrades, I would just get the SC3865.

Diablo is nice and even better for custom tunes but it doesnt sound like you wanna throw another 400+ for custom tuning plus the tuner.
