Default Exhaust?

Anyone have any suggestions on what the best option is for getting a little more sound out of the exhaust without going overboard? Currently all stock. 07 qc with 5.7 mds.

Cutting off the resonator will give you a different tone and would prolly be the cheapiest, but as for all the different brands go to youtube and find a good quality sound clip of someones exhaust. Flowmaster, magnaflow, cherry bomb, trush, vortex or something like that.

Magnaflow or Flowmaster if you want a nice rumble but if you want loud go with CherryBomb extreme

What do you consider overboard? Overboard as in too loud or too expensive, or both? Nobody has mentioned Gibson but thats what i have. Catback in a box and installed it myself. Be careful about spare tire clearance, though, if you have 20" wheels. I had to get one pipe rerouted because it was too close to the spare.

Dont just search by brands on youtube. Each has different model numbers as well so pay attention to that.

I dont have mds but i hear it sounds like crap with aftermarket exhaust when the mds kicks in.

Had a Flowmaster 40. Just put on a Magnaflow. Much better no drone, not as loud as the flowmaster. Sounds much better.

Overboard as in too loud. Don't want to **** the neighbors off, or the wife!

I'm running this right now, Magnaflow 12616. They are on sale for under 60 bucks on Amazon right now.

It is loud and sounds very "angry" when you stomp on it. I will say it isn't too loud in the cab when cruising around (50-65) or when you keep it under 3000rmp accelerating from a dead stop.

I am like you when it comes to no pissing off the neighbors. When I leave for work at 6am I try to keep it under 1500rpm but as soon as I get a 1/4 mile away all bets are off. My parents say that most of the time they don't hear me pulling in when I get back home.

My truck doesn't have MDS, so I'm not sure how it will be for you. I know a fair amount of the guys here with MDS say that the drone is bad when the MDS kicks in, but that is for any brand really. I do know there is a muffler(can't remember the brand tho) designed just for the MDS trucks that cuts the drone down with a spring loaded trap door that closes when the back pressure drops due to the MDS kicking in and shutting cylinders down.

Isnt that only 2.5" inlet/outlet? I thought our trucks were 3" in/out?
