While im taking my time changing my head gaskets ive been messing around with alot of other stuff on my truck. Heres a small taste!

I've been thinking about the same thing. The plasti-dip that i did my wheels with is holding up great, but the other stuff (grill, bumpers, step bars) im not particularly happy with. I have been looking at duplicolor metalcast, but haven't seen enough stuff to pull the trigger yet. still researching, don't want to do it and have it look like crap, id probably do some test pieces first to see how it came out. I might try my emblems or something.

 

Where did you get the pvc bent like that?

It as Electric Conduit Sech 40. Home Depot, You can buy Just like this no bending required.
Its a great look and it works better for what the CAI is trying to acheive.

 

Painted the Hood Struts Today. Those clips are tricky to get back on how did you do it Ewing?

 

For the size that of little piece, the antenna base sure make a big visual impact. I never noticed much with a darker coloured truck but looks real good on white.

 

It really does look a lot better IMO, i wish it was my idea id feel even better about it, and like i said if chrome wasnt so expensive to paint the whole truck would be white.

And at Ewing ya ive heard good and bad about the Plasti-Dip, Looks good tho.
I havent heard about duplicolor metalcast, only shadow, i didnt like the way some of the shadow paint turned out with other peoples stuff.

 

I stuck a 2x4 under the hood to hold it up, then put he strut back removed the 2x4 and shoved the clip back, maybe i dont remember somethnng but other than getting the 2x4 the right length i didnt have too many issues.

Yeah i heard bad things about the duplicolor shadow, like it turns purple. I saw some stuff on he metalcast on some other forum, it looks pretty interesting. Idk about the durability though. Duplicolor has some example vids on their website you can check it out. My emblems are off, so i might get some and try it out on those to see how i like it before committing to anything big like bumpers or the grille.
