Speaking of wires,I was poking around today under the hood and I came across a wire that seems to just hang around, literally.Actually,I was checking too see if my Ram was prewired for fogs. This rogue wire hangs down right behind the drivers side headlight. It's got a cap on the end.I pulled the cap off and it's a 2 prong somethin' or other wire.I thought it might have somethin' to do with fog lights but that plug is mounted to the post right behind my bumper by the driver side and behind the fog bezel.Any clue what the 2 prong might be for.

Do you have the OTIS or EVIC on your ceiling? If not, that may be the wire harness for the outside temperature probe.

That wire usually end up on the driver's side right near the radiator support next to the headlight.

I have neither OTIS or EVIC.Mine is pretty much a standard truck with 4 tires and a radio. It may have been an option wire for something but what something I ain't sure.

So I used the cig lighter wires directly too power and ground the on/off switch. Now it burns the fuse.Anyone got any idea why? It's a 12v rocker type switch.I checked the wires with my circuit tester and it indicated the pink wire was hot and the black wire was ground.I hooked them up to the positive and neg. terminals on the switch.

Switches don't have a positive and negative terminal. it sounds like you're creating a short when you turn the switch on.

You only run the power wire through the switch, in series.

Yeah that's what I did.I ran them in line.I just assumed that since the connectors on the switch had 2 silver and 1 gold terminal that the gold was positive so I referred to it as such.I don't know anything about switches obviously so I guessed at it.Any ol' how,I replaced the fuse, cut the switch on again and it didn't cook the fuse this time.I don't know what was different about the 2 fuses but they were both 20's.Just one of those things I guess.

I have a lot of spare and left over LED strips if you want some. I also have wireless remote controllers if you want to make them change colors.

Which wires are active when the dome lights are on?
I want to convert my domes to blue (easy) and add some floor lights near my feet. I have the lights, but not sure which wire to tap into.
