I've always heard if you plan to offroad or go fast then stay away from BLs. It'll look the same but it won't function the same

A BL will help with clearance for tires, but that's about it. I like them, and my truck is 4x2 anyway, so I plan on getting one. 6" suspension lift and 3" BL should look pretty good =D

not a regular down there but i posted on DT about this and i got a good thread found. and i went under (im not a mechanic so bear with me) and looked around and between my transfer case (what i think is my transfer case) seemed to have more than 4 bolts which is what the indexing ring requires. can anyone tell me exactly what im looking for to verify this? heres from that thread

--- THE KIT COMES WITH AN INDEXING RING FOR THE TRANSFER CASE. IF YOU HAVE THE RIGHT BOLT PATTERN, YOU CAN USE THE INDEXING RING WHICH WILL CLOCK YOUR TRANSFER CASE."ROTATE IT".IF YOU CAN USE THE INDEXING RING, YOU WONT HAVE TO GET YOUR FRONT DRIVESHAFT REDONE.---

I believe i have the right bolt pattern for the kit however a few posts down someone says

---03s and early 04's had 6 bolts on the xfer case and could use the re-index ring provided by skyjacker....02's, late model 04s and 05s have 4 bolts on the xfer case...need to get the driveshaft done----

but i think hes wrong and i should be good to go! but can someone post a pic of the bolts i should be looking for? Thanks for the help so far, I think i just might end up being able to apply this kit!!!
