My price range has a lot of 2004's in it, but was curious if any of the years are particularly better or worse. It would be a quad cab, 4x4, no lifts, 5.7 since I will be using it to tow my 24' Nash travel trailer

Tried to find an article, but my searches may be too generic, if you already have a good read please link me.

Arcsum,

If you PM me the Vin on anything you are considering I can get you a build sheet out and check for any recalls or warranty restrictions on the vehicle.

The wife and I just bought an 08 1500 regular cab with the 3.7L V6 and 6 speed manual, a/c, tilt, cruise, rear slider,Rhinoliner and a hard locking tonneau cover and couldn't be happier. $9500 and it only has 55k miles. So far we are averaging 22.5 mpg. It was bought for commuting and grocery-getting, so it'll never see any hard use. It has the factory towing setup, but it has never been and never will be used for anything. Just throwing it out there since there are some really good deals on the newer 3rd gens to be had.

p.s. Hey, Dodgecares, does Chrysler offer any factory extended service contracts since the lifetime powertrain isn't transferable?

Yes they do. Mopar Vehicle Protection plans can be purchased at most Chrysler-Dodge-Jeep-Ram dealers. With the mileage on your vehicle you would qualify for a pre-owned vehicle plan. Powertrain Care Plus, Added Care, Added Care Plus, and Maximum Care plans are available. The dealer would do a quick inspection for any pre-existing conditions since the vehicle is used and prices are negotiable so I would check around.

Took a little break, back in the hunt again.

09 and up would be awesome, but not realistic for me, I would have to spend more than I want to.

Just got my trailer weighed yesterday. 5840 pounds without water/food/beer/toys/etc.

Even after everything I am still looking at about 6700 pounds.

Anyone see any issues with a 1/2 hemi 4x4 pulling that?

No issues at all with that truck at that weight. Just a big drop in MPG when towing lol

I am currently in a 2000 Sierra 5.3 with a 6 inch lift. Barely gets the thing up the hill and I average 10mpg with nearly 100% city driving (short commute).

It has to be better than that.
