Default 2009 Overhead display install?

Hello,

I have a 2009 Dodge Ram 2500, (that I guess is the same as a 2008), and I don't have the overhead display thing that shows MPG and miles until empty.

I found part number 56049824AD on the dodge website that is the actual unit, but I assume I will need a new headliner and such too?

Would it just be easier to get a odb2 bluetooth adapter and get the MPG on my phone? Has anybody tried that?

Thanks!

Wrong section but I will move it to the 4th Gen for you

Try searching a mobile app called Torque. There are others but you can buy an ELM327 blue tooth adapter and plug it into the OBDII port

You guys keep confusing me! One person says the 2009 2500 is a 3rd gen, then another person says it's 4th gen.

You are the site moderator, I'm going to assume you are correct.

I don't know what to say, I have a 2009, that is a 3rd gen. I was told the 2500s didn't go to 4th gen until 2010? Makes it super confusing to look for parts.
