Default eaton trutrac for towing??

Ok guys, I Decided I will be getting 4.56 motive gears for my truck. Now I want a limited slip, you know, something better then my open diff I have now. The price I was quoted was $1900 for front and rear 4.56 ring and pinion from motive, front and rear master install kits, and a eaton trutrac limited slip. Does anybody have a eaton trutrac or any expereance with one?? Will it work well for towing and everyday day driving in the rain and snow?? Tell me all about it!

Enjoy...

The only 3 brands I really know of that are known to be good are Eaton, Detroit and Auburn

I have a tru trac. I have the stock 3.92 gears. This Diff is GREAT! It's so smooth. It has been raining the past few days and it is great in the rain. I can feel it engage when in sharp turns. However, if I were to real get on it, both tires will break free. I tow a wake boat on a weekly basis and I have no trouble especially on slick boat ramps. Also, you get to lose the additive, it takes just straight gear oil.

I've had a DTT fitted for over 3 years now. I junked that real crappy stock LSD after I had the clutch pack retaining clip issues.
I've never looked back since. Fit the DTT and forget that rear.
Just change out the fluids regularly and forget it.
Al.

Dtt also tow a bass boat no problems yet . Aprox 3,500 miles
On self install . Not as bad a job as it seems . 1 thing about the dtt
It's super fast if u get on it it's locked in but when u go around corners
Silky not a chirp. I'm not eager to drive it in snow thou will take lots of focus
To keep it on road I'm guessing !

I've had my TruTrac for about a year or so now and I love it! I had it installed at the same time as the 4.56's and am VERY PLEASED with BOTH! I recently have been towing a 30' travel trailer that weighs in the neighborhood of 6,000lbs and have had absolutely NO ISSUES with the TruTrac when towing, or any other time for that matter. You'll be happy with the TruTrac, but was mentioned in a previous post, if you "get on it" around corners or on slippery road surfaces, you'll know it's back there!
