I got my 03 1500 with the 5.7 Hemi and 60K miles in 07 for 8k out the door from a ford dealership. HAGGLE!!!!! Lowball them. Have a buddy give u the blue book value over the phone when talking pricing. (be sure to use speaker phone so they can hear it too) They probably got that truck for less than 5K as a trade in.

I just did a blue book check for my area and if you think his price is bad the price for my area is 18k! What is this nonsense?

I accept your apology. :P

Seems a tad high. Tell him it's high mileage and say "I'd be more comfortable at $12,500" and see what they say.

Seriously, "I'd be more comfortable at $XX,XXX" works like a charm on used car dealers.

I bought my 05 1500 Hemi in 09 with 46K.It was just shy of 9G's but they wanted 11.I traded in a 97 Wrangler 4X4 with 124,xxx.Not that trade ins make much difference. They offered me 500 for my Jeep and I laughed in their face.I got in it and started it up.They were fallin over each other to get me back in the dealership. My Hemi runs real good with the exception of the P0300 code which I'm slowly working on figuring out.Anyhow,I flat out told them to give me one reason why I should pay 11 thou for a gas guzzler with the price at over 4 bucks a gallon.I can go right across the street and get a ricer for 11 and get a gas sipper instead. That's when the price bottom fell out of the truck Haggle with 'em.YOU tell them what you'll pay or you will take your cabbage and go to another seller. The price is not what they WANT you to pay it's what they HOPE you will pay!

I'm in nj, that's really high.. I recently picked up an 07 quad cab, 4x4super clean with rims for 11k (110k), no leather but everything else, including a 5.7.. You should be in the 10-12 range.. Buying that same truck privately 8-10. Good luck!

Thanks again for the reply's guys!

I test drove it today and brought it to my mechanic, a family friend. Overall everything went pretty well except for a few things. He said the passenger side exhaust manifold gasket is leaking and has broken bolts in the heads and needs rear brakes and that it. He said everything else was in great shape, barely any rust underneath so I guess they never brought it on the beach.

However, my mechanic said that the tranny has definitely been rebuilt. This is something that worry's me a little bit because I am having tranny issues with my current Durango. Although, when I was driving it everything felt great and the tranny was shifting smoothly. What do you guys think on the tranny being rebuilt? Anything to worry about?

As long as it was rebuilt and and cooler lines were replaced or flushed properly there shouldn't be an issue. And when in doubt, yank the pan and take a look for yourself.

i have an 04 4x4 hemi QC, paid 12,5 for it with 56k miles on it. no leather or sunroof or anything but for a stock truck with everything i wanted i thought that was a good deal. and when i brought my old 06 jetta to the dealer i had aftermarket rims and such and they said it would bring the value down not raise it up, so having all that aftermarket stuff is great but dont let them fool you into thinking it will jack the price up, the guy who traded that in prolly got jipped b/c of it. just my 2 cents, but good luck!
