Default Intake mpg

I have an 05 hemi an I just put in a k&n intake, I was previously getting 11.2-11.5 mpg with flow master muffler and y pipe and now I'm getting 13.8-14.2 mpg just wanted to share that and I'm really happy with these results!

If you reset the computer then that's only temporary. You wont see more than a .5 gain in the long term

True. I did and thought the samething. It also seemed to have a more top end while driving I got a tuner and it help combat that feeling.

If that. Also, if you're relying on the computer for your mileage readings, you're being duped. There is only one way to determine fuel mileage.

Well sadly enough with my Volant CAI, and lower foglight air inlet, I had a massive drop is MPG on the highways. I drove 600 kms or so 2 weeks back at approx -20celcius. And traveling at about 100kph, 62-3 mph. And I was getting around the 13 mpg mark. I was floored by that. So as soon as I was done my drive up north. I stuffed the foglight ram air inlet with rags, and took the Top cap off the air box, so it would breath in warmer engine air. And then on my drive back home. I was getting between 17 - 18 mpg depending on wind, and hill grades.

Now im trying to think of how Im going to make a warm air scoop for the winter time.

i calculated it by hand and you were right it wasnt that high but still a bit better and i do mostly highway driving so that had something to do with it. I've learned that these trucks waste a hell of a lot of gas if its just sitting idle for a while

Well the idle burn wasnt as much as I would have thought. I slept in my truck 2 weeks ago at -20 celcius, And i let the truck idle for heat for atleast 4 hours. Fuel level barely moved on the guage, and i was off about 10 litres on my next fill as for what should have been estimated. So for some warmth while sleeping, it was worth it for that.

At first i was too cheap to leave the truck on. until i woke up and saw my breath in the air, and my testi's traveled all the way up to my throat. Thats when i said screw it and left the truck on till the morning. In the end it was worth it.

Yea it doesn't burn too much. I was stuck in literal non moving traffic last month. I'm talking it took me 5 hours to go .5 maybe 1 mile and I only burned 1/4 tank. It was a good thing I filled up before I left for the event i was going to.
