Post 06 Dodge Head Unit & Speaker Install

So I got my 06 Dodge SLT W/ 5.7L HEMI and decided that I needed to replace the radio and front component speakers because they had a rattle. I chose: an after market radio "Sony DSXS310BTX", Wiring harness and some speakers "Rockford Fosgate Punch P1694 6-Inch x 9-Inch" and went to town. The problem is the wiring harness made for the truck wouldn't work. After looking at it I realized it was getting power but not to the accessory turn on wire so I had to manually wire it down off the cigarette outlet "because its only powered when the trucks running or turned to accessory". Needless to say it worked perfect after that, Soooo onto the component speakers. Yes the holes are setup for 6X9's, but most wont fit the mounts flush. If you do as I did you will have no issues, Make a few cuts in the mid sections and give it a few smacks with a hammer "or just remove the metal to make the hole wider" the mounting hole will be large enough to fit the speakers. Needless to say asides a little fabrication reqs replacement of these parts should go pretty smooth.

I made my own speaker adapters out of mdf. This also allows you to use a deeper speakers woofer.
