Default Trucks back from the shop, 4.56 installed!

Finally got my truck back from the shop to get 4.56 gears installed. Im about half way through my break in period and im very happy with the results so far. Avoiding mud pits and keeping my foot off the gas has been a big challenge but i only have about 200 miles left till i can really test the new ratio. I also found out that the previous owner installed an auburn LSD in the rear so thats less money out of my pocket. Overall Im glad i did it and ill never go back.

3.55 is what was in the truck stock. The difference is huge since ive been pushing 35in tires on the stock gears for a while.

How bad were the 3.55's with the 35" tires? I have 3.92's in my truck and I plan on getting the axles rebuilt this summer and going to 35" tires eventually. Should I re-gear while the axles are getting done?

Default 3.11 vs 4.56

I have been questioning this as well for my truck. I have 2003 dodge ram 4x4 1500 with the 5.9 gas, i have 35s on it with 3.93 stock and have been wondering what rpm's do your truck run in town and running down the highway?

if you can afford it, definitely re-gear. 4.56's all the way.

there is absolutely no information in this post at all. but i agree. Regearing when you have bigger heavier tires is definatley the way to go. you want to keep RPMs as close to stock as possible for gas mileage purposes. I plan on either 4.11s or 4.56s in the future just dont know which ones yet. havent researched it all that much honestly

There may have been no info, but if the op wants detailed information on 4.10s vs 4.56s, unless their search button is broken, there is a ridiculous amount of info on this site already which is easily found. Just throwing in my 2 cents.
