LOL... Im the orginal poster.. Im going back to running my Elantra ( flue costs) but at some point I will be looking at adding more air intake for the hemi...
The skeptic in me really has to debate some of the aftermarket claims in adding tunners and CAI intakes when the brands do not add thease features on thier trucks to add higher HP numbers right from the factery...
If dodge had a contract with k/n all hemis would be pushing out more hp to comptete with fords contract with BBK or GM with AFE as a example..
Im trying to find the $$$ balance betwean performance and common sense, and some times, its sad to say booth are out of reach...
BUT CHERRY BOMBS ROCK.............................................. ..... AS I had to redo the dual ex set up, Im like a kid all over again!!!

there are alot of suggestions here but what i did if it helps is i actually got a bunch of black pvc. i ran it with smooth bends from where my foglight on the passenger side is, to up where the stock airbox is and made my own cold air intake. but i kind of left enough room in between the pvc and the airbox to allow me to close that pipe off it i go offroading or something like that.

I tracked down a used hemi air box and I'm going to cut out the pass side on the box and possibly where the air box tube enters the pass fender.
A air raid jr kit is my next mod well as increasing the stock air boxs abbilty to draw in more air.
I might cut booth air boxs down and fab them up to make a larger box, than I will have to figure out if I can by a larger air filter as splicing one up is pointless, I'm going to explore the ctd air box as well.

i was to looking for a CAI and decided to drill abunch of 1 inch holes all aorund the box making it look like a honey comb almost, dropped in a highflow filter but kept the hemi hat (i dont have a hemi but dont no what else to call it) beacuse i looked in it and it doesnt seem to look like its restriction airflow, theres no baffles blocking the way and well its free. but i did notice a difference, and when i raced a friend of mine he said he could here it whistling over my exhaust, do i would do it

The stock set-up will flow more air than a stock headed, cammed Hemi can flow. This is why there is no CAI tune for Rams in the Diablosport or Superchips tuners. Even K&N states that for their almost $400 CAI kit nets 8hp which you will never feel.
This is why I just use a K&N drop-in filter(not so much for airflow, but I never need to buy a new filter) and the Airaid MIT pipe (for looks and a bit of a growl at WOT).
It's all personal preference on aftermarket stuff, but don't expect any noticeable power gains from a CAI unless your current filter is clogged and starving the engine of air.

I have two air boxs. One from 08 hemi ram and one from a 10 hemi ram.
Thier is no restriction in the hemi hat under neath its a smooth flowing elbow into the throttle body... and the the 2010 hemi air box has a longer intake tube and the air in let in the fender is bigger, yet the air box size is identical ...

On my 06 ram thier is s baffle beside the air in let looks like its attatched to the fender as I do not see one on the 08. Hemi air box....removing this baffle frees up more room to draw in air....
I'm thinking cai are s foolish waste of money ... I'm going to see if the 2010 air hose will fit the older style hemi hat as I have a extra one now..
