Just looking to soften the ride up a little if possible....truck has large white shocks on it and it seems like it sits up higher than what I have seen other trucks like mine.
If found that on my truck, pumping the tires up to 45-40 PSI helps the ride a bit.
Granted, that is on my truck, so it might not work on your's. The solid axle trucks don't ride as well as the IFS trucks, but there are some cases where they ride BETTER then the IFS trucks. (ie, off road)
yeah I guess it depends on what we're talking about when saying smooth. Airing up to 60-65 sure takes the jiggle and motion out of it but you feel every grain of sand on the road. Down to 40 and she ride soft like a frozen caddy but you lose the firmnest you're looking for to use as a truck.
I've found that it actually is not as smooth at 40 as it is at 45. Weird, I know, but I think airing them up a bit more makes the suspension do it's job.
I have a 2500, I put Bilstein 5100s on it and the ride smoothed out a pretty well. The rear is still kinda bouncy because of the HD springs, if I have a few 100 pounds in the back it rides like a dream. If you don't want to lug around unwanted weight you can try bringing your truck to a suspension shop and have them take a leaf out.
