These tuners that have screens for real time data, are more for prestige than for tuning, plus Bullydog made it's reputation on diesels, and now all of a sudden they have the best gas tuner out there. I have run both SC and DSP on my truck and those results he claims, are by far better than either. I'm not calling BS but this is pretty unbelievable to me IMO, not to mention it was done on a 2500
I am not biased towards any tuner and if it didn't live up to my expectations I woulda canned it and got something different. I have no reason to lie. Believe what you want to and I'll keep the facts coming.

I never called anyone a liar, but these claims border on the ridiculous, and I'm not the only one that will be skeptical

dam thats funny 08 I remember you saying that you would only buy the sc and never buy a bully dog tuner, it just shows how many people on here just go off from what other people say. From day one I always said I liked the bully dog over the others because of the dash/pillar mount. Everyone on this site has always steered me away from the bullydog which is the reason why I still havent bought one. I really hope to keep hearing great things about it because its one that I would buy if the gains are good and it doesnt mess up anything

There are dyno charts all over the web that consistently show a 30+ horse gain and high 20's for torque to the rear wheels, and I'd believe it. I'm not going to argue with the mileage thing. Let me log more miles and if the mileage doesn't change I will back it up, if it does I'll post the changes. Again in only reporting my experience with the 40430.

Oh I'm not changing my mind on anything. I still believe the SC is superior to the GT. Just the trans tuning alone would make it better. But I had never heard of anyone using the GT and reporting on it so I was skeptical of it. And like Old Man stated and I've stated before. Bully Dog made their name with diesels and have now moved into the gas world which is a little weird also because most of those companies stick to what they know. I am impressed with his gains and I would consider it now as an option. But not for $500

I agree that the SC has got it going on with the transmission tunes, and they have a good reputation. I like SC. With the bullydog you can change a few transmission settings, but the SC IS superior in that category. I wanted a tuner that could monitor parameters and went with the one that seemed to have the biggest power gains. Also bullydog actually makes 3 different tuners for our trucks, the 40430 being the newest model. I didn't care much about the trans tuning as I have a sonnax cure for it, I wanted power, the mileage which I'm experiencing was very unexpected, but a welcome surprise.

I will be looking into this for my 2500. I am looking to put in a cam possibly this summer. Would this be able to be customized? From what I know I need a custom tune if I get a new cam because I know it will not hold idle.

Did anyone get tunes for the engine and also the trans? I am not too familiar with tunes so I just wasnt sure how they work in terms of tuning the engine and tranny. I would assume tuning would have to go into both of them.

Good to see this is working for you, sounds like some very nice gains

My radio has stopped working since installing the tuner. Anyone know what I should do?

It's definitely a good option that we have now. I don't even have the trans tuning on my SC only because I don't want to mess with the scheduling BS so I may look into this as a replacement if the price drops. I'm just glad you were the guinea pig to see how this was
